Top Secret Science
Students had a fantastic time learning about energy (including: chemical reactions, static electricity, optical illusions, magnetism and sound) through hands-on experiments.
Winter Olympic Carnival
Team Switzerland had a fabulous time participating in the Winter Olympic Carnival.
The "SWATT" Team invades Room 202
Mastering multiplication facts is a big task in third grade. Mrs. Hurley's class is doing their best to become members of the "SWATT" Team. "SWATT" stands for students with awesome timed test. Each week the students are tested on the facts they know. When they reach 100% they become a member and earn a swatter. For each subsequent perfect score, the students receive a bug sticker to place on their swatter. Let's get swatting!
It's Electric!!
Third graders in Mrs. Armstrong’s and Mrs. Sewade’s classes explored simple circuits. Together with friends they worked to make light bulbs light and pinwheels spin. They experimented with switches, conductors, and series circuits as well.
Third Graders erupt with excitement!
After reading Volcanoes, Natures Incredible Fireworks, the students in Mrs. Hurley's and Mrs. Eneguess's classes had an opportunity to make their own volcanoes. They worked collaboratively to make them come to life. It was a GREAT way to end our reading unit.
