In Life Science, our 5th grade students are learning about how energy flows and how matter recycles through ecosystems. They are asked to describe how energy is transferred into an ecosystem through food webs; and explain the roles and relationships between, producers, consumers, and decomposers. By dissecting owl pellets, students get a firsthand look into this process.
