Dear Parents, Guardians, Students,
This school year is just flying by!
This quarter’s student book club has begun. It will run from the week of January 23rd to the week of February 20. If your child is interested in participating during the 4th and final session of the year, it will take place from the weeks of March 12 – April 9. Watch for the next brochure. Please take note that the grade 3 book club is held during their lunch while grade 4 and 5 is after school.
Although February has just begun, I have been planning for our Read Across America celebration which will take place during the week that we return from February break. Activities are planned for March 5 - 9. Students will also have the opportunity to win a prize for literacy activities done over February vacation. Watch for details sent home weekly. Listed below are the activities scheduled.
Monday Vacation Bingo game due.
Tuesday Trivia Tuesday. What do you know about Dr. Seuss and his characters?
Wednesday Book Mark Competition - book mark entries due
Thursday Book Swap - Bring in one or more used books (at your reading level) in good
condition. Take as many home as you brought in.

Summer Reading
There continues to be a number of summer reading books unaccounted for. Should you have one at home, please return it to school as soon as possible. In the event you are unable to locate it, there is a $6.00 fee payable to The Hudson School District. A letter was sent home to you in September. Thank you to those of you have sent in that fee.
