Third Grade Reading

In Reading, students will be working on a variety of reading skills and strategies this year. We will be working on one story each week whole-group. This story will include a specific comprehension, vocabulary and grammar skill. Students will also be reading at their individual reading level in reading groups using leveled readers.

Here are some websites that the students will be using at school to work on these skills:

www.pearsonsuccessnet.com	students can check out their weekly stories, vocabulary and comprehension skills, leveled readers and sequencing cards.	students use their user name and password (located in their agendas) to access their home page
www.pearsonsuccessnet.com	parents can access their child's reading progress online	access your child's home page (see above), click on the "Parents" link (top left of the screen), an explanation of the Success Tracker will pop up, to access this you will need to select the "Reading Success Tracker" from the menu bar on the right side (using the down arrow) and then select view assignment
www.spellingcity.com	students can work on their weekly spelling words while having fun	click on Find a List (across the top), type in the teacher's name, click search, click on the teacher's name from the list (scroll down), click on the unit and week/story that your child is currently working on
